About Us

Our village is situated in Weald Area flanked by both South and North Downs. Actually the surrounding area is covered with forest and beautiful surroundings. You will love the history, information, and the surroundings of the village. The locals believe that the village has a history before the Iron Age. Yew trees put forward that the place where the church has been built was during the first millennium. Until 13th century the village remained with Abbey. Abbey mainly worked for the village and did all the work of development in the village. Then the land was purchased by the family of Pover and until 20th century it remained with them.

The different methods which were used for farming underwent a great change and farmers became richer. We are also growing in the field of dairy farming and we became independent. We as a village are known as a grown farming group of people. The old church also went through a great makeover from wood work to completely build with bricks and concrete, the school was also given a fresh touches. There are also pubs, mills, tailors, shops etc. The whole scene of village was changed with the coming of the railways. With the coming of railways, it made the things really easier for the locals as they can travel from one place to another. It also helped in trading as now the trading products can be take one village to another with the help of railways.

We still have those circled huts and the chambered cairns. There is a place especially for the funerals which is surrounded by greenery. The place is well-maintained and clean.
